AuthorSTREAM Keeps PowerPoint Presenters In The Picture

Posted in   Presentations   on  July 21, 2011

There’s always someone who wants you to build more graphics into your PowerPoint presentations. And, sometimes that can be a bit of a chore. Because PowerPoint presenters need to source all their own images. So, you ponder over their sourcing, their reliability or their pixel size. So much to ponder. And you should really question whether you can actually use the images as well.

PowerPoint Presenters Helped With The Big Picture By AuthorSTREAM

AuthorSTREAM aims to help. Their AuthorSTREAM Desktop 2.0 add-in for PowerPoint aims to help you with your presentation graphics. Their version 1.0 add-in was used by some 500,000 users within months of its launch. And the version 2.0 add-in is set to top this achievement.

AuthorSTREAM Helps Windows PowerPoint Presenters

There are some restrictions. Your system will need to support Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7–it’s got to be up to date, really. And you’ll need to run Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 or 2010 and support Flash ActiveX 10.1 or above.

Click to play

But, if your system supports all that you’ve got some pretty useful help with AuthorSTREAM, which is free to download. And that’s good to know, because your presentation design is all-important.

AuthorSTREAM will help you to source and download videos directly into your PowerPoint presentations. It’ll help you to find images, with search options such as image size or copyright, via the Bing and Flickr image search engines. No surprises there.

And, rather surprisingly, it’ll help you to share your presentations via Twitter. OK, that’s probably not the best business application. But they do support it. So, as a PowerPoint presenter, that’s good to know.

Useful Application For Business Presentations

Is it useful? Yes, undeniably. If you don’t have ready access to a presentation resource outfit such as iStock then sourcing your PowerPoint presentation graphics via Bing or Flickr is going to be that much easier. Just make sure you check out the usage rights if you are to go public with your presentations.
