When you are the industry incumbent you’d better get used to the idea of new product upstarts. Because that’s definitely the position for PowerPoint the presentation software leader. There are now plenty of alternatives to PowerPoint.

Alternatives to PowerPoint and other presenting software tools

We’ve looked in the past at possible alternatives to PowerPoint as a presentation tool in the office. And there are so many of them. With phone-based, PC-based and cloud-based alternatives to PowerPoint, you’ve never had so much choice for presentation software.

But faced with a choice many of us just wilt with the complexity of it all. I mean who wants to buy a dud? Who wants to commit a purchase decision to some cloud-based software that doesn’t deliver when you really need it. Or what about choosing an alternative to PowerPoint that’s branded with someone else’s identity? Or how about choosing an alternative that shares your precious presentations with everyone else on the web. Because it happens. Too often.

So, it’s superb when someone comes along and runs through those choices you have for alternatives to PowerPoint. Because in the past we’ve depended on the likes of PC World’s summary of PowerPoint presentation alternatives. Therefore we’re delighted today to highlight the work of Justin Croxton at New York-based CustomShow. Justin has prepared a list of 24 presentation software tools. Some are real alternatives to PowerPoint…others are all about sharing or distributing your presentations and at least one is a conference organiser tool.

The list is so huge that we are only going to show the names in that list. Therefore you should really pop across to the CustomShow presentation program review and read all the details. Then you can establish which alternative to PowerPoint might be the one for you.

Well done Justin.
