Katarina Witt Presentation Finale On Ice

The Katarina Witt presentation team looked pretty satisfied with their presentation success this week. Katarina is chairing the team that wants to win the right to the 2018 Winter Olympics. All the bidders for the Winter Olympics in 2018 were in London this week for SportAccord. Because this was the near final opportunity for Munich, Annecy and PyeongChang to make their presentations to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) team.

Munich has a good chance of success after the Olympic inspection team, led by 1972 Munich Olympic veteran Gunilla Linberg of Sweden, declared themselves very pleased with the passion shown for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Munich, after their earlier presentations in March.

And Katarina Witt, gold medalist at the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics and the 1988 Calgary Olympics, certainly looked pretty pleased with the efforts of her presentation team who were asked to present all the themes of their bid. These are meant to include finance, sports venues, government guarantees, transport, environment, security and marketing. We hope that they followed these team presentation tips.

Munich is vying to become the first City to host both the Summer and Winter Olympics. If it does so, it will be the first time that Germany hosts a Winter Olympics.

All the presentation teams will be in Lausanne next month for a further ice dancing presentation. We will learn the result when the IOC meets for its decisive vote in Durban, South Africa in July.
