His business experience includes:

Chief Operations Officer at QuikTrak UK, (an asset tracking and communications start-up business) he presented their plans to prospective venture financing institutions in London, Paris and Amsterdam. He managed the business planning process with the network build partner, NTL and worked with service and distribution partners including ADT Security and the vehicle fittings specialist, Toad plc.

Sales and Marketing Director at setfair.com, (a maritime e-procurement start-up business in which he was a founding shareholder) he led the initial development of the Oracle-based e-procurement web site and the customer experience. In addition to managing the marketing launch of the business he built a direct sales and service team targeting maritime industry customers in Europe, the USA, Japan and Singapore and oversaw the acquisition of a Vancouver-based business. He was the spokesman for the business and managed a series of public speaking events at trade shows in Europe.

Marketing Manager at Inmarsat (the mobile satellite communications business) he led the product marketing and sales efforts for an innovative range of satellite communication devices achieving both sales and contribution targets. He devised the Open for Business programme a worldwide training and product knowledge scheme with performance incentives. He was the company spokesman for new services and spoke at press events throughout Europe, Southern Africa, Singapore, Australia and Canada.

Marketing Manager at Cellnet (the UK-based mobile communications network) he built and financed the Academy a skills and performance development scheme involving BT, Securicor and Motorola sales teams. He market launched mobile voice and text messaging services and managed the early mobile data services targeting consumers and small businesses. He was a frequent presenter at sales conferences, product launches, trade shows and meet the press events.

Early in his working life he worked at Redland plc (the building materials business) and Pilkington Brothers plc (the glass maker).
